💡 Tips for Visitors
Photography is not permitted inside the main temple buildings, but the exterior grounds, gardens, and memorial caves are free to photograph. The entrance fee is 700 yen for adults (cash recommended), and the temple is about a 10-minute walk from JR Matsushima Kaigan Station. Visit early morning or late afternoon to avoid tour groups and enjoy the peaceful atmosphere; allow at least an hour to fully explore both the interior halls and outdoor areas.
