💡 Tips for Visitors

New Chitose Airport has excellent English signage and international ATMs for cash withdrawal, which is essential as many smaller establishments outside the airport are cash-only. The best time to visit is either summer (June-August) for hiking and outdoor activities, or winter (December-February) for snow festivals and winter sports access. Rent a car at the airport for maximum flexibility exploring the region, as public transportation to rural attractions can be limited.
