Stretching over a kilometer along Otesuji Street, Kochi Sunday Market is one of Japan's oldest and longest-running street markets with over 300 years of history. Every Sunday, around 400 vendors set up colorful stalls selling fresh local produce, handmade crafts, plants, antiques, and delicious street food unique to Kochi Prefecture. The lively atmosphere and authentic local experience make it a perfect spot to interact with friendly vendors and discover regional specialties like yuzu citrus products and Tosa-style dishes.

π‘ Tips for Visitors
The market runs only on Sundays from early morning (around 5-6 AM) until 3-4 PM, with peak hours between 9 AM and noon. Most vendors are cash-only, so bring plenty of yen. While English is limited, vendors are warm and welcoming, and pointing and smiling goes a long wayβdon't hesitate to sample food and ask for tastes before buying.
