πΏ Nature & Parks Β· yufuin, Oita Β· β 4.0
Mt. Yufu is a stunning twin-peaked volcanic mountain rising 1,583 meters above the hot spring town of Yufuin in Oita Prefecture. The mountain's distinctive silhouette dominates the landscape and offers a rewarding 90-minute hike to the summit with panoramic views of the surrounding countryside and Beppu Bay. Often compared to Mt. Fuji for its graceful shape, Mt. Yufu is especially beautiful in early morning light and when framed against the town's traditional ryokan and rural scenery below.

π‘ Tips for Visitors
The main trailhead is easily accessible from Yufuin Station (about 30 minutes on foot). Best visited in spring (April-May) or autumn (October-November) for comfortable hiking conditions; avoid rainy season (June-July) when trails can be slippery. Bring cash for any purchases in town as many small shops don't accept cards, and note that there are no facilities on the mountain itself, so prepare water and snacks before starting your hike.
