Sengokuhara Susuki Grass Fields
ยท hakone, ยท โ 4.2
The Sengokuhara Susuki Grass Fields transform into a mesmerizing golden sea each autumn, with thousands of pampas grass stalks swaying across the hillside creating one of Hakone's most photogenic landscapes. Located in the volcanic valley of Sengokuhara, this natural wonder is best experienced from late September through November when the silvery-gold plumes catch the sunlight and create an otherworldly atmosphere. A wooden walkway allows visitors to stroll through the fields and climb to an observation platform offering panoramic views of the surrounding mountains.

๐ก Tips for Visitors
Visit between late September and early November for peak golden grass season; early morning or late afternoon provides the best lighting for photography. The site is free to enter and easily accessible by bus from Hakone-Yumoto Station or Gora Station (get off at Sengokuhara stop). Wear comfortable walking shoes as the paths can be uneven, and bring cash as there are limited facilities nearby with mostly cash-only payment options.
