π‘ Tips for Visitors
The highland is best visited from late May to October when the mountain road is open; outside these months, heavy snow closes access. Take the Venus Line toll road or shuttle bus from Matsumoto, as public transportation is limited and having a rental car is highly recommended. Bring warm layers even in summer as temperatures drop significantly at high altitude, and note that most facilities accept cash only.
