Shosenkyo Gorge is a stunning natural wonder located in Yamanashi Prefecture, featuring dramatic granite cliffs, crystal-clear streams, and some of Japan's most picturesque waterfalls including the famous Senga Falls. The gorge offers excellent hiking trails that wind through lush forests and along the pristine Arakawa River, with particularly breathtaking views during autumn when the maple leaves turn brilliant shades of red and gold. Accessible via the Shosenkyo Ropeway, visitors can enjoy panoramic views of Mount Fuji and the surrounding Southern Alps from the mountaintop observation deck.

π‘ Tips for Visitors
The best times to visit are late October to early November for autumn foliage and spring for fresh greenery. Buses from Kofu Station have limited English announcements, so download a map beforehand or use Google Maps for navigation. Most facilities accept cash only, so bring sufficient yen, and wear comfortable hiking shoes as trails can be steep and rocky.
