π‘ Tips for Visitors
The Kumano Kodo pilgrimage trails require moderate fitness levels; consider starting with shorter sections and wear proper hiking shoes. English maps and guides are available at major trailheads, but mobile signal can be limited in mountain areas. Visit during spring (March-April) for cherry blossoms in Yoshino or autumn (October-November) for colorful foliage, and note that many guesthouses along the trails are cash-only.
